Programme:

For the third consecutive season Leeds, who had failed to score on either previous occasions finally achieved that feat when Mark Ford found the net with a cracking shot from over twenty-five yards in the dying minutes. It was far too late to have any effect on the result as it came a minute after Paul Mahorn had scored Spurs' fourth goal. Kevin Watson had already scored three minutes before half-time and Neale Fenn had got a brace, one from the penalty spot in the seventy-seventh minute and a second five minutes later. United made two substitutions, one the start of the second half, when Jason Blunt replaced Kevin Sharp at Outside Left, and in the sixty-first minute, when Phil Masinga replaced Andy Brown at Centre Forward. The game was played at the Ryedale Stadium, York.
